Volunteering

Like all grass-roots sport we rely on a whole army of volunteers to enable our swimmers to reach their full potential. As well as supporting the club, volunteering is fun! And whatever your skills we are bound to have a role that you will enjoy. Whether you are a parent of a swimmer or a member of the broader community then we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteering as a Coach

We are always grateful for additional help on poolside coaching our swimmers. And we support our volunteer coaches in developing their skills through the Swim England coach development pathway. If you would like to volunteer in a coaching capacity please contact the secretary or head coach in the first instance.

Volunteering as a Technical Official.

All licensed swimming galas need a number of technical officials to ensure that swimmers compete in accordance with Swim England rules.

Hosting a competition at Inspire LSV needs a minimum of 18 officials and 10 helpers; ideally there would be 25 officials and 16 helpers to make the event run as smoothly as possible.

Officials need to be qualified but this is provided through the club.

Volunteering to help run the club

The club is run through a small committee of volunteers with an aim of making it as successful as possible.

Volunteering as a gala helper

Running a successful Open Meet requires a lot of volunteers. The majority of jobs do not require any experience and the club would encourage all parents to support the swimmers by volunteering at them at some level.
