Adam Taylor, our Head Coach, will be dashing from the poolside at the Bedfordshire County championships this month (January 2017) to catch a plane “Down Under”.
During his trip Adam will be visiting top clubs and performance programmes to pick the brains of Australia’s best and bring back some fresh and exciting ideas to Team Luton.
Adam is looking forward to escaping the English winter chill but is particularly excited by the opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s top coaches. “I plan to get as much from the experience as possible to help further develop our swimmers both those competing nationally to those just joining the club.”
Within days of returning to the UK Adam will be re-packing his bags. He has been invited to coach an England team at an international event in Marseille alongside British Olympic coach Fred Furniss.
When the club appointed Adam last year they knew they had recruited someone recognised as one of the country’s best up and coming coaches, having served six years as Head National Age Group Coach with the City of Birmingham.
Glenda Mayes, Chair of Team Luton said ‘we have all been impressed by the energy and professionalism Adam has brought to our club. These trips are recognition of Adam’s talent and the knowledge he gains will benefit all our swimmers.’
