A member of Luton SC since 1968, Glenda has followed in her father’s footsteps, becoming Chair of Team Luton.
Having gone to the European Masters in 2001, Glenda took an extended break from competitive swimming. She continues to train as a means of keeping fit whilst enjoying the banter that comes with the Masters squad. In 2015 Glenda was tempted (or was that cajoled?) into entering the National Masters once again and to witness first hand the team spirit that particularly comes to the fore each year in Sheffield, both in and out of the pool.
In keeping with the Masters’ swimming ethos, Glenda’s aim these days is to simply compete against her own times, not necessarily against other swimmers. Even so, June 2017 saw Glenda collect a silver and bronze medal at the GB Masters.
Away from the pool, Glenda goes to the gym, runs, skis, bikes (a little) plays golf and walks. Sampling wine counts as one of her less energetic pastimes.
